Excellent reel
These reels are excellent -- durable, strong, and much lighter than other reals this size. I have 6 of these and only one has ever had a minor problem. I especially like to fish the 1000R on ultralight tackle. The 1000R had no problem handling a 3.5 foot shark, a 36 inch Northern Pike, and many walleyes. The drag held up and did a great job. I spool them with 10 pound Fireline. What a deal!

Outstanding Value
I own five of these, that I have purchased over the past few years. It is my exclusive light tackle saltwater reel used when bait fishing for red and black drum and flounder. First, you must remove the trigger and throw it away. Then spool up the 1000 or 2000 with 10 to 20 lb microbraid line. These reels can handle the heavy line with a smooth drag. An eleven dollar reel that doesn't rust and can handle the runs of a 15 lb. puppy drum is a great deal.
