Description  more details

The oversized ball bearing makes this one of the smoothest-operating reels you'll ever fish. And a one-way clutch bearing lets you enjoy effortless retrieves even with the drag tightened. The large-arbor spool takes up line quickly and reduces line coil. A patented center disc-drag system ensures total drag control. Both the frame and spool are constructed of machined, anodized aluminum, and an easy-release switch makes it simple and quick to change spools.

Pflueger Trion 3/4 wt Reel
I matched this reel to a TFO Finesse 4 wt rod and Cortland 555 WF4F Rocket Taper fly line and all I can say is WOW. My son fished with this outfit during Christmas on the Little Pigeon River in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and I thought I might not get it back! This is a great reel and I can recommend it as a satisfied customer. My ONLY (minor) complaint/recommendation would be for Pflueger to make the drag adjustment knob a little larger to grip easier. Also, Troutlet is a great place for price and service!

Pfleuger Trion Reel
I think this is a great fly reel. I have an Orvis TLS power matrix fly rod and the two fit together perfect. I fish alot of small streams and this reel is great for roll casting. Some parts of the stream are about 40-50 yards wide and this combo casts long distances with great accurracy. I think this reel is a must buy if you are looking for the best reel at a reasonable price. It can do everything you want!!!

Pflueger Trion Fly Reel
I got my Pflueger Trion Fly Reel for a Christmas (2002) Gift from my sister and went on my Yearly Trout Fishing trip in Sping 2003, and never used it. I used my Sage 3000 Series Reel model# 3300 on my Sage 586 FLi 8'6' 2 pcs Fly Rod and my Ross Evolution Model 2 Reel on my St. Croix AF-865 8'6' 2 pcs Fly Rod. They are both wonderful Combo Sets. A few years ago I would buy into the Saying that you could not buy a good Fly Reel with a good working drag system for under $200.00 or is some cases $150.00 dollars, but not now days. I picked up a another Fly Rod and put my Pflueger Trion 1956 Reel on it and took it with me on my Spring 2004 Fishing Trip in the Appalachian Mountains. I fished rivers and mountain streams and cought lots of fish and some were large Brown Trout (Above 5 lbs). I even cought a 27 inch 6lb 15 oz Brown, my Pflueger Trion Reel did a great job. I love my Sage 3000 Reel, but knowing what I know now, I would have never spent the money I did on it. These Pfluger Trion Reels and some others under $100.00 are great reels, not just good for the price, they are great Fly Reels! It's very smooth, the drag system works flawlessly with a wide range of control and is easy to ajust, even when fighting a fish, and its a very well made Fly Reel. So I ask, why would I ever need to spend $300.00 or $400.00 on a Fly Reel again? My Pflueger Trion does everything my $300.00 and $400.00 Reels do, and is just as well built, and they cost under $100.00!

Trion Fly reel
Great reel for the money and if you get a chance try the President out, even better for only a bit more money. Just dont leave your rod and reel on your car and drive off. I have to replace the whole trion reel. Oh well great reel.

Pfleuger Trion Reel
I didn't want to spend too much money on a starter fly reel but wanted something good so I got this one. Everyone who saw the reel, from the tackle shop owner to the guide himself all gave it very favorable unsolicited compliments. It worked fine and trouble free.
