Economical NOT-FALL-APART-ON-YOU Starter Combo
I purchased this combo as an economical way to see if fly fishing is for me. Rod is very comfortable and easy to cast. Weight of the setup is versatile enough that you can use it for small or large fish. I used air cell fly line instead of the one it came with so I don't know how it performs. The pflueger medalist reel comes as a right hand reel and is not reversable. However, the non-adjustable resistance is almost exactly the same whether you set it up for right hand or left hand reeling. I set mine up for left hand reel and it works great. There are those of you with experience who know what it feels like to use expensive gear but for those of you who don't have anything to compare it with, I couldn't find anything I didn't like about it. For a starter setup, I would recommend it. Although it took a little bit long for them to fill my order, I did receive good communication and excellent customer service from Troutlet.
