Very Good Reel
I've used very few automatic reels before, but I really like this one. It's great for panfish and other smaller fish. I have actually landed 5 pound bass with it. It is a good reel and very strong, however it is a little on the weighty side for a fly reel, but you can't expect it to be light since it's an automatic. You also can't expect it to land 20 lb steelheads, and if you do, then you aren't too bright for trying. It's like trying to plow a field with a push mower. It isn't the equipment, it's the operator....

Pflueger fly reel
This reel when new seems to have a weaker spring in it but as you use it the rewind seems to get stronger. I still prefer a martin automatic it just seems to work better.

I do not understand how ppl like pflueger better then the martin automatic fly reel. Say what you want.But,Martin Is the best buy for any fly fishing reel period.I own a martin and can tell you that there Is no way In hell a pflueger can outperform martin.Just my opinion.Sincerely,Joshua Fields

Replacement for Dad's old Shakespeare reel
My dad had a Shakespere automatic reel while I was growing up. My cousins and I used to have a lot of fun letting out as much line as we could and then SNAPPING it back with the autowinder. I think we toasted that reel. I bought this reel as a replacement and it blows the doors off that old reel my dad had. Guy at the local shop says that the Pflueger is the best automatic out there. I hope so. I surely couldn't argue with the price.

I received my order very promptly and in perfect condition. I am disabled with lung problems which restrict my breathing and leave me short of breath,not having to wind in 40 or 50 yards 0f line while fighting a trout is a life saver. The only hoby i have is my fishing when i am able to go so your reels are a great help to me. BOB
