This is the nicest reel I own. Had a little problem with the drag sticking at first. Took it apart myself(what warranty?) Couldn't find anything wrong. Put it back together and perfect!? Now like everyone else says, "Super Smooth" I have a whole collection of extra spools for it and fish Salt, streams and stillwater with it. Very nice..

 Really good buy!!!
Pick any reel on the market with a drag and compare to this reels drag system and you will be pleasantly surprised. I have seen these reels used by Guides for anything from Trout to Bone fish to Tarpon on the salt. The consensus is all Positive! Rinse with fresh water after fishing the salt and it is ready for storage.If this reel was lighter and had a better warranty (this warranty does not show confidence in their high end fly reel) it could be sold for twice the price or more. Don't get me wrong if you buy a reel for $600 you are getting a lighter reel with a very good drag but comparatively speaking you can't beat the price an quality of this reel. This company has a great reputation for quality and this is no exception. The only negatives that I have found are the price of the spare spool is high (my opinion), the warranty is only 1 year Limited, and the reel only comes in one color which can be a problem as far as reflecting the sun onto the water. I would recommend this reel to anyone I know unless they are willing to spend $500 or more for a reel. I have been fly fishing for over two decades and Guiding for a number of years as well.

This is the most amazing reel i have ever owned. It high quality and i haven't found any flaws in it. To me this reel shows all the quality of a $500 fly reel at a reasonable price.

great deal if you're looking to step up to a nicer reel from a cheapie. Best bang for the buck you could find. absolutely smoooooth. really nice drag. stripping line off is a joy by itself. And take-up is a breeze with the large arbor. couldn't be happier.

This Okuma Helios reel is one of the best reels I have ever owned. Very smooth and rivals some of the more expensive reels in my arsenal. I highly recommend to anyone!
