Great Outfit, BUT
I had the Sears version of this many year ago, which suddenly just stopped working, but was fun to use. Just got the Diawa Minicast version yesterday, the present day (2012) version is a problem, Diawa goofed, they didn't check to see if the rod and reel work together, they don't! I had to sand down the locking nut and the lower foot of the reall so it didn't fly off the rod when casting. On the 2nd cast, the reel went KERPLUNK right into the water!

Daiwa Minicast Combe
The reel was a gift for Mike Kostelnik who fishes in NY and PA. He stated that it was great for small stream fishing for native brook trout, the low profile design reel makes for easy handling for young fisherman, the grip design is very comfortable and the reel attaches to the handle in a secure manner. Nice system. Would recommend.

Daiwa Minicast Combo
This is the most durable ultralight combo I have ever owned. I have 2 that are over 15 years old and still work great.

Daiwa Minicast Combo
This is my favorite combo out of approx. 12 rod and reels. It's great for crappie, bluegill and even (3 lb) bass. I had owned my prior Mini cast combo for 21 years. It was still working perfectly until the day it fell of the back of my boat. I was relieved to find that Troutlet still offered this combo, because I could not find it locally.

Daiwa Minicast Combo
This is a hot set up for any kind of lake , stream or river fishing. I've had 3 mini cast combos for about 25 years. I finally blew one apart on my last fishing trip this summer trying to land a big trout. Since they are hard to find, I looked for a source ,and Troutlet had them . Though out of stock at the time (seems there very popular), they got one to me as soon as they received it. Now , can't wait to break it in on that pounder that got away. Thanks Troutlet
